Project Overview
One of our clients asked for a quotation of a stone project which they considered routine. At first, the client wanted estimates only for the kitchen countertop and some of the vanities. Our estimator’s primary responsibility was to concentrate on these areas of interest, as identified earlier.
Project Discovery
As per normal, our team analyzed all the plans, elevations, sections and finish schedules. In this systematic review, we found many possibilities for stone installation that were not considered in the basic plan. In particular, we observed that there were many stone elements in the wall panels and fireplaces that were incorporated by the designer.
Client Communication and Results
Being aware of the possibility of a better value project, we explained the client of the need for additional custom stone work for the wall panels and fire places. The client was happy with these new opportunities, making what was initially a normal job into a high revenue generation project.
Conclusion
This case demonstrates how much our estimation team contributes in terms of identifying all the details of a project. Our systematic approach provides better estimates on quantities and allows for the identification of all project scopes, thus giving our customers better and more detailed estimates.
